La multinacional española entrega en Madrid sus galardones de diseño y rinde homenaje al arquitecto David Chipperfield, Premio Pritzker 2023 / The Spanish multinational gives its design awards in Madrid and pays tribute to architect David Chipperfield, 2023 Pritzker Prize winner

Porcelanosa ha celebrado la 15ª edición de los Premios de Arquitectura, Interiorismo y Promoción Inmobiliaria, en una ceremonia donde se puso en valor, la visión sostenible, la trascendencia y la materialidad de la arquitectura y el interiorismo, y a la que asistieron reconocidos profesionales del sector a nivel nacional e internacional.
Para esta especial edición, los Premios Porcelanosa han contado con un jurado integrado por Eva Longoria (Rockwell Group Madrid), José Martí (ERRE arquitectura), Luisa Badía (L35 Architects), Paolo di Nardo (ARX) y Víctor Legorreta (Legorreta).

En una gala conducida por Michi Primo de Rivera y Maribel Vilaplana, se hizo entrega de los siguientes premios: en primer lugar, se concedieron Mejor Diseño de Futuro Sección Estudiantes para Cristina Gómez Cortijo y María Cristina Hidalgo; y Mejor Diseño de Futuro Sección Profesionales, que recayó en la propuesta presentada por Monica Viti y Sabrina Borgianni, de Studio MVSA Architecture (Florencia, Italia).
A continuación, se entregó el Mejor Proyecto Año 2024, un spa ubicado en Jalisco (Guadalajara, México), de VAN VAN Atelier; y las siete menciones especiales de los Premios Porcelanosa. La primera de ellas: Mejor Proyecto Sostenible para la promotora inmobiliaria AM Gestió y el estudio de arquitectura BCA por ‘AURA’, que fue entregado por Willy de Molina, socio de Deloitte.
En segundo lugar, Álvaro Uriarte, vicepresidente de Samsung Electronics, concedió el galardón Proyecto Más Innovador al doble ascensor urbano ‘HALO’, ubicado en Vigo (España), que ha sido ejecutado por AM2 Arquitectos, Arenas & Asociados y NOARQ.
Por su parte, SHA Wellness Clinic obtuvo la mención Mejor Proyecto Hotelero -otorgada por José Enrique Pastor, director territorial de Occident- por su reciente apertura en México, proyecto realizado por el estudio de arquitectura Sordo Madaleno y el interiorista Alejandro Escudero.
Nude Project logró el galardón al Mejor Proyecto Retail Nacional, por su tienda en Lisboa, diseñada por el estudio de arquitectura e interiorismo valenciano El Departamento. Olga Abad, directora de empresas en Santander España, se encargó de entregar el premio a la disruptiva firma de moda. Silvestre Segarra, vicepresidente de Porcelanosa Grupo, se encargó de conceder el galardón Mejor Proyecto Retail Internacional por el cambio de imagen en la red de tiendas de Bershka, a los directivos de la marca de moda perteneciente a Grupo Inditex, y al reconocido estudio OMA.
Posteriormente, María José Soriano, consejera delegada de Porcelanosa Grupo, entregó al estudio de arquitectura Villarroel Arquitectos y a la promotora Palo Alto, la distinción Mejor Proyecto Residencial, por Palo Alto, la comunidad residencial situada en la Costa del Sol (Málaga, España).
Premio Honorífico para David Chipperfield
Héctor Colonques, presidente de Porcelanosa Grupo, hizo entrega a David Chipperfield del Premio Honorífico de Arquitectura Internacional, reconociendo su extensa trayectoria profesional y la excelencia de los proyectos que ha ejecutado en multitud de países, llevándole a alzarse con el Premio Pritzker el pasado año.
Además, el arquitecto británico recibió en 2009 la Orden del Mérito de la República Federal de Alemania, en 2011 la Medalla de Oro Real de Arquitectura del RIBA y en 2013 el Praemium Imperiale de la Asociación Japonesa de Arte, entre otras distinciones.
El estudio de arquitectura de David Chipperfield cuenta con cinco oficinas ubicadas en Londres, Berlín, Milán, Shanghai y Santiago de Compostela. El reputado arquitecto creó en 2017 la Fundación RIA, una agencia independiente sin ánimo de lucro y un think tank que trabaja por la sostenibilidad del entorno construido y natural de Galicia, a la cual, Porcelanosa dotará de una aportación económica para el desarrollo y ejecución de nuevas acciones.
Para clausurar la ceremonia de entrega de premios, Héctor Colonques dirigió unas palabras a todos los invitados: «Porcelanosa premia la arquitectura que se anticipa a los problemas del futuro, que mejora la calidad de vida de las personas y que minimiza el impacto medioambiental». Al mismo tiempo, el presidente de la multinacional española animó a los asistentes a «seguir construyendo juntos, no solo edificios, sino legados de creatividad, sostenibilidad y belleza».
El acto celebrado en el hotel Rosewood Villa Magna (patrocinado por Banco Santander y con la colaboración de Deloitte, Occident y Samsung), reunió a destacados profesionales del sector de la arquitectura y el interiorismo, y a numerosas personalidades del ámbito empresarial.
Porcelanosa has celebrated the 15th edition of the Architecture, Interior Design and Real Estate Development Awards, in a ceremony where the sustainable vision, transcendence and materiality of architecture and interior design were highlighted, and which was attended by renowned professionals from the sector at national and international level.
For this special edition, the Porcelanosa Awards have had the privilege of having a jury of exception, in charge of evaluating the participating projects and handing out some of the awards: Eva Longoria (Rockwell Group Madrid), José Martí (ERRE arquitectura), Luisa Badía (L35 Architects), Paolo di Nardo (ARX) and Víctor Legorreta (Legorreta).

For its part, SHA Wellness Clinic won ‘Best Hotel Project’ – awarded by José Enrique Pastor, territorial director of Occident – for its recent opening in Mexico, a project designed by the Sordo Madaleno architecture studio and interior designer Alejandro Escudero. Nude Project won the award for ‘Best National Retail Project’ for its shop in Lisbon, designed by the Valencian architecture and interior design studio El Departamento. Olga Abad, business director at Santander Spain, presented the award to the disruptive fashion firm.
Silvestre Segarra, vice-president of Porcelanosa Grupo, presented the ‘Best International Retail Project’ award for the change of image in the Bershka shop network to the directors of the fashion brand belonging to the Inditex Group, and to the renowned OMA studio. Subsequently, María José Soriano, CEO of Porcelanosa Grupo, presented the ‘Best Residential Project’ award to the Villarroel Arquitectos architectural practice and the Palo Alto development company for ‘Palo Alto’, the residential community located on the Costa del Sol (Málaga, Spain).
Finally, Héctor Colonques, President of Porcelanosa Group, presented David Chipperfield with the ‘Honorary International Architecture Award’, recognising his extensive professional career and the excellence of the projects he has executed in a multitude of countries, leading him to win the Pritzker Prize last year. In addition, the British architect received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2009, the RIBA Royal Gold Medal for Architecture in 2011 and the Praemium Imperiale of the Japan Art Association in 2013, among other distinctions.
David Chipperfield’s architecture studio has five offices located in London, Berlin, Milan, Shanghai and Santiago de Compostela. The renowned architect created in 2017 the Fundación RIA, an independent non-profit agency and think tank that works for the sustainability of the built and natural environment of Galicia, to which Porcelanosa will make a financial contribution for the development and implementation of new actions.
To close the awards ceremony, Héctor Colonques said: ‘Porcelanosa rewards architecture that anticipates the problems of the future, that improves people’s quality of life and minimises environmental impact’. At the same time, the president of the Spanish multinational encouraged the attendees to “continue building together, not just buildings, but legacies of creativity, sustainability and beauty”.
The event held at the Rosewood Villa Magna hotel -sponsored by Banco Santander and with the collaboration of Deloitte, Occident and Samsung-, brought together leading professionals from the architecture and interior design sector, as well as numerous personalities from the business world.
